Hey there,

I don't see any visible activity on a second batch made on '13 Roeselare slurry. I made the '13 batch a day before I left for overseas so I don't know about how it looks early on. Is it quite slow to take off?

Second generations of yeast blends are pretty unpredictable. You don't really know what the mix is. Give it a couple days and take a gravity reading. If it hasn't changed, then you'll need to repitch.

You probably have way more bugs then yeast the second go around. Give it a few more days. First pitch of roselare is usually pretty agressive because the blend has a lot more yeast but those yeasts can be food for the bugs so the balance will be off.

Thanks for the advice guys and easing my mind. I'll report back in a few days!

Good call, gents. She is happily percolating away right now
