I'm headed to Myrtle Beach SC from Chicago (through Tennessee) and I'm looking for some good microbreweries to sample along the way.

Any good ideas??? "Na Zdrowie!":mug::mug:

Three Floyd's sounds like a good first stop if you're heading from Chicago. Also, definitely stop in Indianapolis: Sun King, Rock Bottom and Bier Brewery are all well worth your time. Bier Brewery only sells growlers though.

You could do Asheville, Greenville/Spartanburg, Columbia, Florence, and then Myrtle Beach...:

Asheville: Quite a few. Highland is there along with a good few others.
Greenville: Thomas Creek is worth a visit
Columbia: Hunter-Gatherer is the only brewpub, they do pretty well. I think their food is outstanding and their beers are pretty good too.
Florence: Southern Hops. Opened a few months ago, I haven't tried their products.
Myrtle Beach: Gordon Biersch (not that original I know)

Turns out that due to a job interview on Thursday, my trip is cut short to TN only, so looks like i'll at least be hitting up Yazoo! Thanks so much everyone!

Flat12 in Indy is really good. Gotta try their "Upside Down Blonde."

Eh, if you have had good experiences with flat 12 awesome, I had some of their stuff at the Indiana microbrew festival this winter and was really really disappointed

As for other places, if you are heading down from Chicago here is my suggestions, go down I-69 stop at three floyds in Munster. About an hour and a half south of that off of 69 is Peoples brewing company in lafayette. They are about a year old but make some really nice stuff, small taproom is all but it's really nice(and let me know if you stop here ill come have a pint with you) then just hit 69 again to indy for bier and brugge etc.

Fair warning, Yazoo only does tours on Saturdays and the tap room is only open Thursday and Friday from 4 to 8 and Saturdays from 2-8.

Yeah, I've only had their blonde. And let's face it... I'm a sucker for blondes :p

I have only had an ipa with 100 something IBUs and it wasn't bitter to me at all and just tasted like a bad batch to me but the guy was really proud of it so I just smiled nodded and walked to the next booth

Back to topic, heard from the Brewer at people's that their black ipa is in the bright tank right now so it shouldn't be long till it hits taps

Leaving this morning...I live close by ( and frequent) 3 Floyds quite a bit, plus Dark Lord Day was yesterday and that place will look like a tornado hit it!

But i may try Flat 12 as well as Peoples Breweing Company this week. Thanks again everyone!!

I also recommend Sun King Here in Indy. Havn't tried Flat 12 yet. Rock Bottom Downtown has a few decent brews.

I went to Smoky mountain Brewery last night in Gatlinburg. It was pretty good, (if not a littlt touristy) but they had a nice low-hop,lightly carbonated brown ale called black bear that was tasty and i got a growler of their Cherokee Red to go.

I will definitely check out Sun King as i will be in Indy on Wed. afternoon/evening. Thanks for all the suggestions!:mug:

Nashville also has Bosco's and Blackstone Restaurants/Breweries. They are both very popular micro-breweries.

There are a lot of craft breweries in Tennessee. As mentioned above, Yazoo is indeed a great one and sets the standard here in Nashville. Tell Linus the owner hello, he's a great guy and the staff there is fantastic.
