I decided for my next brew I would go collect some river to water work with. Its a glacier fed, fast moving river that does not go through any residential or commercial area. Meaning it does not any interaction with any man made influencers. Although it does flow by dead and alive tree matter, silt, and granite rock. Although flow by very fast.

Problem is that it's slightly yellow coloured with a faint earthy flavour. I'll attach an image it.

I've given it a rapid boil to kill off anything. Its ph is 6.7 and for reference my tap water is 6.4. I'm concerned that it might contain some off flavours. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help.

There is a good chance that the yellow color is glacial flour and if you let it sit for a day or 2 much of that will settle out. The water will likely be pretty soft also. I'd give it a try if I lived there although I might decide to make a smaller batch just in case it turned out bad.
