Wanted to put my results out there. They are not perfect but I am pretty happy with the end result. Brewed a MO/Citra SMaSH for my first AG recipe. Set Beersmith2 up with a 72% efficiency estimate; actual efficiency was 68%. Estimated OG was 1.055; actual OG was 1.052. Estimated FG was 1.012 and actual FG was 1.010. All in all I wound up with a nice looking beer. A taste of the hydrometer sample leaves me thinking this will be great when finished. Added an ounce of Citra to dry hop and will bottle in a week or so.
First batch and did not realize exactly how batch sparging was supposed to work and screwed it up. Collected my first runnings and recirculated...about 10 times because I didn't think it was clear enough. Gave up and added sparge water to wort. Collected it all in my BK and commenced with the boil
My process was pretty terrible but I am excited to see what the correct procedure brings in my next brew.
