Wanted to put my results out there. They are not perfect but I am pretty happy with the end result. Brewed a MO/Citra SMaSH for my first AG recipe. Set Beersmith2 up with a 72% efficiency estimate; actual efficiency was 68%. Estimated OG was 1.055; actual OG was 1.052. Estimated FG was 1.012 and actual FG was 1.010. All in all I wound up with a nice looking beer. A taste of the hydrometer sample leaves me thinking this will be great when finished. Added an ounce of Citra to dry hop and will bottle in a week or so.

First batch and did not realize exactly how batch sparging was supposed to work and screwed it up. Collected my first runnings and recirculated...about 10 times because I didn't think it was clear enough. Gave up and added sparge water to wort. Collected it all in my BK and commenced with the boil :drunk: My process was pretty terrible but I am excited to see what the correct procedure brings in my next brew.

Congrats! Not bad for the first time as your numbers were pretty close to your projected numbers. Once you do a few more all grain batches you will be able to dial in what your brewhouse efficiency is and can adjust your grain bill accordingly.

Glad to hear that! I was really surprised at how well the Home Depot MLT worked. That thing holds heat seriously well.
