i have some extra stuff laying around, so i wanted to make a quick clone of arrogant bastard.
one of the recipe's is just pale extract, crystal 150 and chinook hops. so i figured even if it was close, it would probably be a tasty brew to say the least.
now, my LHBS does not carry crystal 150, and the highest they can get is 120.
what can i used to substitute the crystal 150. i only need .75lbs as this is scaled down to 2.5 gallons.
any ideas?
also, i did see another clone that was a lot more complicated, but i really dont want to go that route, i am just doing this to get rid of some extra ingredients i have, and make a cheep beer.

Use the 120, it won't be as dark, but it should work.

Or order some 150 from Brew Master's Warehouse.

Sure you are looking for 150 Lovibond? I don't think British crystal goes higher than 120 Lovibond.

You might be looking for 150 EBC, which equals about crystal 75-ish.

EBC, the European system, equals around twice the Lovibond scale.

Simpsons makes one that is 150L to 160L.

In fact, on their website they say they make caramel malt up to 400 EBC which would be even darker.

Simpsons website states their crystal malt in EBC. So 400 EBC is equal to about 150L. I would go with 120L, this will barely be noticeable.
