Replace the top to a mini fridge

I just recently acquired a Frigidaire FRC445GB mini fridge off of CL. It runs great, but the top is slightly warped (previous owner set hot items on top......idiot) and is cracked\bent. I was wondering if anyone thought of replacing the top plastic with something else (wooden or otherwise). Perhaps you broke the top getting it off and replaced it? Any thoughts? It appears that the model is too old to just order a replacement top

FYI: It's the same fridge as the one in this conversion project which I hope to replicate
