I had one of those. Someone my grandma knew was getting rid of a bunch of track and accessories. I had the battery powered garage with boost.

A friend and I would hold races, but we didn't have the starting line accessory so we had to let go of our cars at the same time. He always cheated!

I collected miniature orange figures in the 80's. They came in a plastic miniature garbage can. They were called M.U.S.C.L.E. Anyone remember them? Looking back, they were so lame as their arms or legs did not move.

MUSCLE even had a ring where you snapped the characters into a little holder and "wrestled" them like rock 'em sock 'em robots. My friend growing up took the largest one he could find and jammed it into the holder, breaking that side of the ring forever. He only had the thing one day before it broke. He got so mad I had to put him in the Sharpshooter to calm him down.

Oh I visited a house near my grandma and the kid there had one of those. It was so sweet! An absolute BLAST to ride! You could break the back end loose so easy on that.

I always thought this was a cool design with the big logo and the gold top. The blue cans today are kinda lame.

Comedian Gallagher plans to retire after 32 years of live performances following heart attack.

MARION, Ohio — The comedian Gallagher says he’s had his fill of performing live onstage and is retiring after 32 years.

The Los Angeles-based comedian, whose full name is Leo Anthony Gallagher, told an Ohio radio station on Thursday that his retirement plans include posting his writings online and possibly appearing at private parties.

Gallagher is known for smashing watermelons with a sledgehammer. He had a heart attack March 14 before a performance at a suburban Dallas bar. He came out of a medically induced coma this week and was released from a hospital Wednesday.

He told Scott Spears of WDCM in Marion that it sometimes didn’t matter how clever his jokes were if the audience couldn’t hold their liquor. He said the job is like “baby-sitting people who can’t handle alcohol.”

Last I heard, his act was getting speckled with racist and homophobic overtones, catering to the hotdammer crowd. I sort of lost interest after that. I did like the sledgeomatic though...
