New to kegging, having trouble holding 10 psi. It keeps raising to 40-50 range even with adjustment valve turned all the way down. It's brand new and and does not seem to be obstructed?

Sadly, the forum has way too many reports of defective regs fresh out of the box.

One thing you can try: remove any tubing connected to the reg, close the tank valve, if the reg has an output shutoff valve open it fully, crank the regulator pressure wide open, get a good grip on the reg/tank assembly, and open the tank valve to produce a couple of good short blasts. If there was machining debris caught in the reg valve seat that ought to clear it...

Cheers!

I'm thinking it's defective, I tried blasting to clear debris just in case that was the problem but didn't help. Thank you
