Refrigerator on temp control question

Quick question that someone here can hopefully answer.

When you put a refrigerator on a temp controller, what happens to the freezer section? The fridge I have is an older model with just one temp setting (which doesn't seem to do a whole lot either). I would like to use a controller on the fridge I use for my serving cornies, but I want to make sure my hops stay frozen too.

as long as you set the temp around what a frige should run anyway it should be fine.

I was mistaken. It should work OK at serving temps as buzzkill said above. I was thinking it won't work if the fridge was kept at fermentation temps. Sorry about that...duh.
