Today I picked up a Kenmore Coldspot (freezer on top, fridge on bottom) on the cheap. Plan on using it for my brewing needs (possible kegerator). When I checked it at the ladies house, it looked rough, but I saw no sign of leakage/water damage. It had clearly been in her garage and in use.

After a 20 mile trailer ride, it is in my garage and I have noticed a very slight drip that appears to originate from the freezer gasket (freezer is empty and no water is coming into the unit).

I'm thinking that the freezer gasket is not sealing 100% which is causing some sort of sweating activity, resulting in the drip. Other than this, the unit is cooling great. It could use a new gasket all around, but online shops list a gasket kit at $66.25 which is way more than I gave for the unit.

Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this type of thing?

Also clean it real well and keg lube the seal so it actually will flex a little better.

Might make the little bit of difference you need to seal it up.
