I know this is probably a “newb” question, but I was hoping someone could help me out anyway. I am expanding my brewing to all grain and have one batch successfully in the books. I had some help with the recipe and ingredients, which is why I am needing some help with the conversion and whatnot. I found the recipe below that supposedly is close to a Surly Cynic clone. My problem is that I don’t really know how much beer that is supposed to make. My last all grain batch used close to 13 lbs to make 4 gallons. With only 5.92 lbs of grain, that seems very small to make a 5 gallon batch. Do you think I should double the ingredients in order to get 5 gallons?

Again, any advice/help would be MOST appreciated.

Cynic Clone
4.00 lbs Bel Pilsner (2row) 67.57%
1.10 lbs Aromatic malt 18.58%
0.82 lbs Flaked Oats 13.85%

5.92 lbs Total

0.25 Columbus Hops for 60 mins
0.30 Styrian Goldings Hops for 20 mins
0.30 Styrian Goldings Hops for 7 mins
Belgian Saison (Wyeast labs 3724)

At 75% system efficiency it would make 3 gallons. What you can do is just keep the percentages and scale the recipe to your desired batch size and efficiency.

Good luck, it seems to match with the general info of Surly's website:

Oh great, a fizzy yellow beer in a can, that's just what the craft beer world needs! CynicAle melds Old World ingredients in a new school style. French malted barley, English oats and Belgian yeast create honey & black pepper flavors. Lively Slovenian hops provide the floral, apricot and peach notes. Toss your doubts away, toss one back and enjoy!

STYLE: Belgian style Saison/Pale Ale
MALT: Pilsner, Aromatic, Oats
HOPS: Columbus, Slovenian Styrian Goldings
YEAST: Belgian Ale

OG: 14º Plato
ABV: 6.6% v/v
COLOR: 9.6 ºSRM
IBU: 33

I entered this into my recipe spreadsheet and the OG came out to 1.031 and 15 IBUs for a 5 gallon batch. Doubling the recipe would get you just over the 14 Deg. Plato that the brewery states as their OG. It also gets you to the correct IBUs. So doubling the recipe for a 5 gallon batch would definitely be warranted in this case.

That recipe is for a 2.5 gallon batch...as it is my attempt at a clone...I would not say it was cloned but it came out very good..I am going to have to give this clone another try in soon.
