make fun if you want, i was given the ingredients to make a free brew therefore i didnt lose anything by doing this. Anyways.. i made my own version of the highly debated " Black IPA " or " Cascadian Dark Ale " or whatever you wanna call it. I had a little too much to drink later in the week and was watching a video about adding fermentables to the fermenter during high krausen and i decided it would be an alright idea to add 1/4 bottle of mrs buttersworth maple syrup. Now, about five days later i went out to check it tis morning and it appeared to have a layer of fat or oils on the top of the beer. co2 was still escaping and it formed bubbles all over the place. it was the wildest thing ive seen yet in homebrewing. The bubbles looked like if you blew a bubble with some gum. i have pictures of the bubbles and after i popped them. after they were popped it appeared to just be yeast with little white specks. not moldy tho. very confused. i was going to dry hop it today but i dont wanna waste my hops if its bad beer. let me know. thanks
