OK, silly question from a newbie. I inherited all my equiptment and do not have directions for my hydrometer. Can anyone explain in very-easy-to-understand language how I go about this? Thanks guys!
1. fill a tube with a sample of the liquid in question
2. place the hydrometer in the liquid
3. make sure the hydrometer is floating and not touching the sides
4. spin the hydrometer to make sure there are no bubbles clinging to the hydrometer
5. do your best to see where the liquid level is on the hydrometer (surface of the liquid not where it meets the hydrometer)
6. once you have your reading take the sample's temperature
7. go to this site to get the temperature corrected hydrometer reading
