So I made a batch of black berry melomel in 2004, I just stumbled across a box of amber bottles that have been sitting since then, so 15 year old melomel.

I can see a little haze / settlement in the bottles, should I open strain through a coffee filter and re bottle?

I started this as a hobby, but got busy, now getting back into it.

Any suggestions?

thanks, Steve

When ready to drink. Just slowly pour off the mead, leaving behind the sediment.

Don't filter. You'll horribly aerate it and kill the flavor.

I would just start drinking them. Interested to know how it tastes. If it's vinegar you'll know what to do....... gift it to friends as gourmet vinegar!

All the Best,
D. White
