My buddy and I were in Washington DC in the early 1980's and jumped in a cab and told the cabbie "Soviet embassy, quick!"
I hope you had the presence of mind to repeatedly turn and nervously look out the back window as though you were trying to figure out whether you were being followed or not.
My buddy and I were in Washington DC in the early 1980's and jumped in a cab and told the cabbie "Soviet embassy, quick!" Later, we jumped in a cab and yelled at the cabbie to "follow that car!" and pointed out a random car. The looks on the cab drivers' faces were priceless. And yes, we did ride the cab all the way to the embassy and did follow "that car" for about 5 minutes before we told the cabbie to drop us off.
I hope you pretended to be on your cell phone and for the cabbie to hear.... "The eagle has landed...The fat man walks alone"

Don’t know what country thats in, but I remember driving to Mammoth, Ca years ago and it looked exactly like that.

I thought there were places in the UP of Michigan that people needed to make tunnels to get to their front doors.

I don't doubt it. They get a lot of lake-effect snow up there. @Yooper could probably attest to that, but she's probably warming her toes in Texas right now. :)

We had 39" just in Feb alone. It snowed another 5" today. Might have to rake the roof again to get some more of it off. Last year we had a 19" snowfall 3rd week of April. Hopefully this winter will wrap up before then.

Lake effect snow - When our son was a senior at SUNY Oswego, a NY State College on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, over a 48 hour period they got 72 inches of snow. My wife and I drove up 5 days after it stopped snowing and witnessed several homes that still had snow drifts up to the second story windows.

We made a huge change, and have decided on Florida. It's been quite warm this winter, and I spent the day yesterday kayaking.

We were planning on going home in a couple of weeks, but since the weather is so bad up north, we're staying here at least another month or so.

I met up with @passedpawn about a month ago. Hopefully I can meet some other Florida HBTers in the future.

Yeah, a couple weeks might be premature. You'll be greeted by huge drifts. Even here in MSP, they aren't predicting temps to crack 32 until mid-March. Our St Patrick's parade might be using sleds. ;)
