We used to have a big air show in town and one year the Stealth flew in. I was on my deck power washing and happened to look up and the damn thing was flying directly over me on the approach to the airfield.

Scared the crap out of me at first...didn’t hear anything, it was moving slowly, and looked like it was 100 feet above me!

When I power washed the poo from the deck and my heart started beating normally I thought, “how cool was that!” and if I were a villager in Afghanistan and saw that I’d pledge my allegiance to the American flag!

we live close to Dulles airport, which is right by the Udvar-Hazy Center, part of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

once in a while they'll have classic aircraft exhibits, so we'll see lots of older planes fly above our neighborhood

back in April it was British WW2 aircraft and we had an Avro Lancaster and a Spitfire fly by

but the COOLEST! was when they flew the space shuttles. Enterprise out, Discovery in. was able to look out my office window and see Enterprise being flown out. MAN, that was cool

In 1984 I got to see the Space Shuttle land piggy-back on a 747 at Brookley Field in Mobile. We sat at the end of the runway on the beach on our bicycles.

CSB:
When I turned 50, I went in for a colonoscopy. The doctor and the nurse assisting were both "all business" but nice and very professional. They even set up a second video monitor so I could watch the probe do its Fantastic Voyage thing. After the procedure was complete and I got a clean bill of health from the doc, he said, "that wasn't bad, was it?" I replied, "No, but now I know how the Muppets feel." Both the doc and nurse busted out laughing.
