My morning commute sucked, found out why.

Somebody was feeling sleepy this morning and decided to have a lie-down. Railing saved him from a short flight and a quick stop at the opposite bank of the underpass.

That’s no lie! I travel down there for work regularly and I don’t know how people deal with the traffic on the beltway on a daily basis.

"lucky" the accident happened ON the underpass of a big gas station on the right so the traffic, which was very light at the time, could easily be redirected via the on and off ramps of the said underpass back to the highway past the site.

Very light indeed. If that had happened on the closest I-495 ramps to my home at noon on a fair-weather Wednesday the traffic on both sides of the 6-lane interstate would be backed up for miles.
