Only bad thing about this is all the breweries that will pull out of the Beavertown Extravaganza this year, more of a style over substance brewery for me.
Yeah I get why breweries pull out of events after sales but at least have the balls to stick to your commitment that one year and then in the future if you want to be a sanctimonious ****** then go for it.

I'd tend to agree with you, but they'll pull out for fear of being labelled hypocrites and 'supporting big beer' for attending. Shame, as Logan has, up until now, had a great reputation in the craft beer world, which shows in the brewery lineup for the extravaganza. Do the Veil get extra moral points for pulling out before the deal was even confirmed?

Nope.

Cloudwater getting a hammering on Twitter for pulling out this morning.

Some retailer pals of mine just announced they are stopping selling Beavertown despite them being a not insignificant part of their revenues. I guess others will do the same too.

Brewdog have also pulled out but I suspect most will see that as hypocritical given their recent private equity investment. Plus everyone loves to hate Brewdog anyway.

Did they mess with the beers at all or did quality stay the same? Strangely we don't see Lagunitas in the UK as much since the takeover.
I don't know, we don't get their beers so I haven't had them in a long time. My guess is they're pulling the imports until production starts at the new brewery?

I liked Gamma Ray a lot when I was in Spain a couple years ago.

I don't think so. I still get Born Yesterday every year and it's just as good. They also opened up a Seattle location that I've been to twice in the past year. Did some awesome fresh hops last Fall and they're really making a point of doing local Seattle beers with ingredients from Skagit and Yakima. I'd much rather go to a local brewery, but at least they're trying.

The whole situation still sucks, but it isn't as bad as the **** with InBev.

Seems to be the general consensus that they haven't tinkered with the beers like InBev have. I think people are more concerned by the ****** marketing/selling/bully tactics Heineken have become known for, and have been fined for.

I know InBev did that around here with Goose Island IPA kegs, didn't know (but not surprised) that Heineken did it as well.

Goose is pushing their garbage really hard here but their stuff is always old as hell. I had a Honkers that was 2 weeks past the expiration date recently.

I assume nobody cared about the De Molen sale the same way nobody batted an eyelid at Founders selling a minority stake to Mahou.

Just because they're macros nobody outside Europe has heard of it's ok.

The article I linked to mentioned that t'Ij is under a similar to situation with Duvel Moortgat, which I also didn't know about.

Oh it’s super fun to being up The Short’s and Founder’s minority sale to fanbois and discussions about the Hopcat’s dedication to carry only Craft.

I personally think they changed quite a lot. I lived in Santa Rosa up until a couple of years ago, so suffice to say, I drank a lot of Lagunitas (Really miss the days of when the local grocery stores would put six packs on sale for $5.99). All of the core beers taste almost exactly the same to me now. The Czech Pils is the one that changed the most to me. That used to be a great Pils, and now it just tastes like a malt bomb. I didn't like this year's Waldo's either. I have pretty much stopped buying any thing from them.

That said, 12th of Never is a damn good beer.
