"I've I ever met the Russian River guy, I'm going to pronounce his name Vine-ey to teach him a lesson."

-actual paraphrase of several posts on BA

If you go to a beer release with folks who are bottle sharing, and then ask said folks if the beer they are pouring is "at least a 4.0 on Untapped because I don't drink beers underneath that", I will likely give you a ****** look, shake my head, and walk away from you.

Even more so when said beer is a Suarez Kinda Classic.

Some of my favorite beers of all time are under 4.0, whoever told you that is just dumb.

How did you respond with anything other than “get the **** outta here?”

Uhhhh, where did this happen?

went to the #juicybrews (is that even a hashtag thing?) fest/party this weekend in Richmond and realized I had never even heard of maybe 75% of the breweries involved. seems to be a LOT of new places over the last 2-3 years - though I'm not nearly as in-tune with the happs as I used to.

obviously didn't try every brewery (30ish) or every brew (2-4 each) but the Resident Culture Re-Up Kellerbeer was by far my favorite beer. such a cool dude too! everyone I sent over to them came back super-impressed too.
I find it ironically funny that the potentially best beer at a hazy-ipa/fruit beer fest was a clean keller ;)

They did one of those in Oakland recently and it was pretty nice. I definitely found that the best stuff wasn't full-on hazefest (or was sour). Most of the places I had heard of, but fewer than I would've guessed. The rate at which new breweries are cropping up seems to be completely insane, but it's probably no different than before, it was just easier to keep track when there were only a few already around.
