I like Mikkeller ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Far from my favorite but there's plenty other breweries that are worse.
I used to live in Evanston and never knew this...
Are we still calling Mikkeller a brewery?
They'll always be a gypsy brewery to me.They actually have a brewery location in San Diego
They'll always be a marketing gimmick to me.
I lived in Willard Res College, named for Frances Willard, founder of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.I used to live in Evanston and never knew this...
Well I think the other option was for it to just close.I will never forgive Mikkeller for ruining what was one of my favorite bay area bars by turning it into a Mikkeller bar
RIP Trappist Provisions

It's interesting to me that somehow the Trappist guys had a bar in that location close to closing, I'm honestly not sure how that could be possible.
That was the scuttlebutt. Was that the reason they made that move? Kinda surprising as it consistently had good beer on tap and in bottles. I never saw it fully empty either.
Remember that South Park episode with scuttlebutt? It was a creature that had Bryan boytano for a leg or something. I didn't learn scuttlebutt meant rumors until I joined the military later. That was the scuttlebutt.

I don't understand how that post could come off as sarcastic. My understanding around the time the switch happened is that if Mikkeller didn't take over they were going to have to sell/close/whatever.Aaron & Chuck considered closing that location? Or is my sarcasm-detection way off?
Aaron and Chuck were running a wildly successful business that would fund retirement someday. They sold because why not.
The Iceman Pour: perfect for when you want to simultaneous disguise the fact that the beer you are releasing is flat AND get likes on Instagram!
How are they disguising that it is flat? It literally says "no carbonation" in the text....
