Ok, with a big beer fest on Saturday......do I drink everyday this week to prepare, or hold off until Sat? Thoughts?

Been a while since I've done the unlimited pours fest thing.

You need to get those gainz in this week, bruh.

I would recommend one barelywine and at least three session IPAs of your choice a week night.

Look at the cute box the $9.99 12oz bottle comes in.

I remember when I first joined BA seeing an article by the Bros about the "training" they do for big fests, basically getting shitfaced every day for a MONTH before the event to build up tolerance. Seems like a good idea, can't see what would go wrong health-wise from that.

Only a month????

I was hoping that the size of the boxes would stay the same for more lulz and more waste.
Makes me think of when CDs first came out. They came in these big, pointless boxes.

Pure waste. They did fit perfectly in the door of my school locker, though. Made good decoration.

Drink a ton of different things every day this week to prepare yourself. Not from a tolerance standpoint, but to do your best to prepare your palate.

It's probably not going to work, but there's good intentions behind that method. Oh and you'll get drunk at the very least. So terrible...

They still do CD singles in a similar oversized format like that in Japan.

Yes. Japan still has CD singles. And Tower Records.

Most important thing is to follow beer fest rules. Dump anything you don't absolutely love after one pour. You'll still get a bit drunk, but you'll get to try everything you want to and not be incapacitated the next day.

That will be harder to do with so much good beer flowing.

I went to a beer festival with a friend of mine who I tried to explain this to in advance. He wanted to "keep up" with me and try everything I did...except that he never dumped anything, whereas I dumped quite a bit. End result? I was sober and we had to leave 90 minutes early because he was too drunk to stand. One of the brewers at the event commented to me that my friend was the drunkest person he'd ever seen at a beer festival.

Sorry for partying.

Drink an enormous amount of water in the few days prior to the fest. You should be peeing so much you're bored of it.

Idea being that you're gonna get dehydrated from all the drinking anyway but at least this way you are starting at the maximum hydration level possible.

"X-Style Y" is almost a sure sign of craft beer ratchetness.

Possibly the most incoherent usage of that nomenclature that I can recall was for a beer that Natty Greene's brought to a festival in NC one time. They described it as a "gueuze-style lambic".

"****-style lord"

Glad the format change hasn't caused them to stray from their mission of making the most wasteful packaging around.

Oh no, twice as much paperboard as if it were in 6 packs! Feel my rage!

He'd be proud.

Yeah, it's all about water and food. I usually make food an early priority. The later you leave it, the longer the queues and the less you care about waiting. The end result is a drunk you.

Tolerance. This is key, and all of the following will, in some part, contribute to it. We start the process by building up our alcohol tolerance, by drinking at least 6-10 beers a day. This is not a limit, but rather a base to get your body used to the alcohol and its effects.

Moderation. Life is not a frat party and nobody is impressed by beer drinking antics. Appreciate what you are drinking and always practice moderation with your drinking. Know your buzz level and maintain it. Exceed it and you will only run into problems.

I am not an alcoholic. Damn straight. The politically correct term is "champion of beer" and we individually chant this every night before we go to bed.

Hahahaha
