I can trade one single 12oz bottle for a handful of both our mutual favorites. So yeah, I might just do that.
TokenIranian you walked into that one!Don't be silly, nobody actually drinks TG stouts.

Umm. Are you implying something? Honestly hard to tell.If your moms white and I'm assuming your father is Iranian. I can't imagine your parents are together or would he ever support this. I would give you more credit if you said your father went to pick them up.
I'm just saying I would be impressed if an Iranian who might be Shia went to a beer release. My mother in law is Shia.Umm. Are you implying something? Honestly hard to tell.
But is she hot?Hello hello, Amir here. I registered here since it was brought to my attention my Instagram post was linked in this thread. Let me expand a little bit in regards to that.
I agree parental muling isn't exactly commendable, but given that I travel for work and can't exactly guarantee my attendance at any particular event (weddings, funerals, graduations, etc.), I asked my mom to enter the lottery and explained what would be required if she won.
When she won, I offered to take care of her gas, meals, and so on. Since she is semi-retired, she had the capacity to make the 2-day commitment up there. I spun the trip up (and she was excited to oblige) as a belated Christmas gift to me. She was excited to actually 'get' me something for the first time in years.
I moved from IL to SC 5 years ago. Whenever I go home, I bring good beers (I'll let you all identify what can be classified as good) for her and I to split while we grill out, cook dinner, have company over, etc. Beer, for us two, is as much a shared hobby as it is for anybody on any beer forum/group. It's a way to catch up when I am gone from my hometown for 3-6 months at a time.
As for the post itself, I didn't do it for my own attention, although I am fully aware and understand how it can be perceived. My mom is an active lurker on Instagram. It's how she keeps up with my sisters and me. She follows along and keeps up with beer, mead, etc. by following my account. For me to not thank her in a public forum (in this case Instagram), when I otherwise thank my trade partners and friends in similar Instagram posts, would've been a slap to her face after making such a trip on my behalf.
Like someone mentioned earlier, I do in fact recognize the ridiculousness of getting someone to mule for them in the fashion I did. But my mom is happy, and I'm happy. So I don't feel bad for the situation at all. And for what it's worth, my grandparents live in the quad cities (IL/IA border), so she was also able to swing a visit with her parents and spend time with them as well during her mini-trip.
Anyway, I'm on my way back to central IL for a week-long visit right now, and I plan on visiting STL Saturday. If anybody is located in either of those areas, DM me on Instagram. I'll give the first person who messages me a Westbrook Rum Barrel-Aged Siberian Black Magic Panther. Cheers, y'all.
TL;DR My mom is mighty swell. Cheers, ladies and gents.
I thought that's what this was.New spin off thread....Toxic Beer Topics
My de Garde assplosion has continued through this afternoon, and our office's sandpaper-esque TP isn't helping matters.

What time were you at de Garde? Sounds like we might have been there at the same time. Just missed you.We were there Saturday from around 3:30 - 5. We then retreated to our hotel and ticked ~25 1-3 year old de Garde bottles. We came back by on Sunday around 11:30 to grab a few more bottles before heading back to Portland.
I'm going to tell everyone I'm from the American Westside now.Note from an editor for an article edit:
"What are American westside beers? Ie. How are they different from say, Northeastern styles?"
Me
"Pull up a chair, and let me explain a few things. In fact, why not start with chairs, then we'll move into biotransformation. Oh and then there'll be a side note about malty IPAs. Then we'll talk about Heady Topper because that's where the story, as we know it now, starts. Or does it? Hahaha this will be so fun"
Hope you left the stall door open for the partners at your firm. Yes, I'm aware that sentence is a double extendre. I was, however, referring to events described earlier in this thread. My de Garde assplosion has continued through this afternoon, and our office's sandpaper-esque TP isn't helping matters.
