Modern Times does those for every limited canned IPA release with a 10 pack limit and still ends up having plenty of cases to sell on premises when it's released. Their most recent (and best thus far) can, Goblin Rock, is still available at the brewery, three weeks after it was released.

No line, no chairs, no hype. I'd say they're ******* doing it right.

Except for the one release I went to last summer...of course

It seems weird that so many people here care so much about the dynamics between TokenIranian and his mom. Yeah, most of us wouldn't have an aging parent do what he did, but everybody's family dynamic is different. If she was happy to oblige, great for him.

Maybe we're trying to figure out how to access the Persian mom mule network?

I think it's more people calling him out for claiming to feel shame about making his mom take the longest mule job in beer history but making a very public post thanking her for said mule job, then making up an excuse to make it seem like he didn't do it solely for the purpose of swinging his internet phallus because his mom really, really cares about whether or not he makes an appreciation post on the Gram.

He didn't make his mom do anything. He asked her to do it and she agreed to do so. He chose to express his public appreciation by posting on Instagram. We have no way of know what the purpose of the Instagram post was; I choose to take what he wrote above as his reason at face value rather than assume that he was trying to "swing his internet phallus". TokenIranian, you mentioned that you bring good beers for the two of you to split. Will you be sharing the Toppling Goliath stouts with her?

You're a much nicer, less-cynical person than I.

Those TG brews, no. She still doesn't really enjoy bourbon-Barrel aged anything (she's never liked bourbon/whiskey). If she enjoyed bourbon? I would say more than likely for KBBS and definitely for an Assassin.

For now, I've got her hooked on sours and Schramm's meads.

I tend to be pretty cynical about most things, including how terrible beer is circa 2016, but TokenIranian didn't come off as defensive, had a plausible explanation, and has been vouched for by other TBers who know him.

I usually agree with TalkBeer's cyncial take on things but TokenIranian strikes me as genuine.

Don't be silly, nobody actually drinks TG stouts.

From New Years Eve. I brought the bottle on the left; BravoDawg supplied the other 3 bottles.

Excellent choices. Definitely makes up for how boring the quad cities is.

Jesus Christ, for a bunch of self-proclaimed, laidback beer nerds, you people are a judgy, persnickety lot of Negative Nancys. Can we rename this thread "Get Off My Lawn Thoughts"?

Or at least, can we go back to thrashing ****** breweries instead of what you perceive to be ****** people?

UPDATE said:
In an update since we went to press (see below), we have learned a few more tidbits regarding Green Flash Brewing’s recent changes. We have reached out to Green Flash Brewing, a company we’ve worked very closely with for nearly ten years, and are now not hearing word back. That is the benefit of being a private company, there is no obligation to share the bad news.

  • Alpine Beer Company in Alpine, CA has temporarily halted production for the past month.
  • Alpine Beer Company terminated assistant brewer Kevin Brown, who was one of Alpine’s original employees, even prior to the Green Flash acquisition.
  • The most shocking of all, but a little unclear, is that Founder, CEO and President Mike Hinkley has stepped down from the President role and that COO Chris Ross has stepped in. Sources have indicated this was a “falling on the sword” type of move. We are still unclear as to the CEO role, which is something you can’t immediately step out of without board meetings and corporate filings.
I don't know what's happening, but **** Green Flash for running Alpine's brand, rep, and operations into the ground. Is there any other beloved brewery that's fallen harder and faster than Alpine?

I suddenly feel a lot less inclined to pick up a 6-pack of Duet after work, as I was planning.

I realize that it may just be my mom, but if my mom picked up some limited release beer for me I can guarantee that she'd love to see how appreciative I was on social media. Note this is a hypothetical world where I've gone crazy and asked my mom to mule beer for me, but still.

Mom is worthy of sharing Assassin but only maybe worthy of sharing KBBS.

Got it.

Lol. Figured you wanted an honest response. And since I guess I need to explain myself, here's the very simple thought process: I can trade one single 12oz bottle for a handful of both our mutual favorites. So yeah, I might just do that.

Christ.

If your moms white and I'm assuming your father is Iranian. I can't imagine your parents are together or would he ever support this. I would give you more credit if you said your father went to pick them up.
