I need more Temptation in my life. Better than 99% of the new **** people get bent over trading for these days.

Edit: I should probably tag tosh even though I know he reads every post on TB.
I just threw one in a box for someone, I got you on this one. Let me know when my Mild and Gruit HB are ready. ;)

How tough are those to grab when they are released? It's by far my favorite (well probably tied with Beat) and it's the only one I'm currently missing for a full series tasting with friends.
It sits at the brewery a while, places get some distribution which don't disappear straight away.

Would drink Santification over all other RR beer, all day every day.

Its weird, Sanctification and Temptation seem to rarely make it down to Los Angeles. I usually only see Consecration and Supplication on the shelves down here.

That's because Supplications and Consecration are available basically year-round, while Sanctification comes out about once a year but sells the slowest of the bretted beers (it's got no bacteria now, just Brett) and is available most of the time recently. Vinnie apparently has trouble sourcing Chardonnay barrels, so Temptation is the most limited and sells out quickly too, because it's the ****!

The label says 100% Brett, but Sanct has bacteria. Just no sacchromyces.

I'm drunkenly browsing **** and thinking, "I wonder if Midnight Sun is good again... I should check out their stuff."

As if on cue, ehammond1 toasts my Untappd check-in of Arctic Devil 2013 from May 2013, where I rated it 2.5 stars. Suddenly I remembered why I don't have an opinion of their later stuff.

I love him so much.

Was that the year that was all smokey and woody tasting? I remember not liking that beer the first time I had it but liking it later.

Not trying to knock people who don't have kids, just saying that I'd rather hang out with my kid over standing in line for beer or drinking 2 oz pours of obscure stuff.

I would rather have kids than hang out in most beer lines these days. That's how much I hate beer lines today.

I look forward to bring our kid to breweries. Yes, I will be that person with the screaming kid and they will kick you in the shins.

And I'll be the guy that will call your ******* kid a ******* homie.
And again, I'm not watching my language around your children at a bar/brewery. You and your kids can go kick rocks at Applebee's or some other family establishment.

caveat: Wisconsin

can remember going to biker bars with my old man when we were little. they sponsored the fastpitch softball teams. there would be all the sons/daughters of the players mixed in with the old salty alcoholics, the weeknight regulars, the ballplayers, the bikers.. nobody batted an eye.

the guys used to give us quarters to play video games. they'd give us dollars for picking up rounds at the bar.

the language we heard, the shenanigans we saw from fights to dude's pissing themselves, to women flashing their tits... never thought twice about it. i don't think anyone did.

hell, i saw a guy get stabbed and hauled off to the hospital in the bed of a truck when i was about 7 or 8.

times have changed. today our delicate precious little flowers can't dare be exposed to harmful negative words lest they fall in to a deep depression. sunshine and rainbows only, kids!

I take my girl's 5 year old to a cockfight at least once a month. It builds character, and it's important to be able to quickly assess the strength of a rooster.

I almost lost him there once though. I needed some collateral. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

was it in Puerto Rico? because if it wasn't a cockfight in Puerto Rico then it wasn't the real deal.

Definitely an Upper Midwest thing. Went to my share of bars as a kid.

But that's the thing, if your kid is just there, minding their own business, no biggie. But if you go to a taproom and there are kids everywhere, screaming and climbing on stuff, and you get the stink eye for dropping an effenheimer, kinda kills the vibe a little.

my 5 year old is the foulest mouth member of my family and i don't spare the language around them. she's a little Don Rickles in the making.

I've stopped buying mead more recently, because it seems like every time I open a bottle, even from decent places, the reaction is "eh, this is okay, but not worth the price." While I still couldn't justify buying it again at $30 for a 12 oz bottle, for the first time in a long time, I had a really great mead: B Nektar #DragonsAreReal. If I see it in Boston at CBC, I can definitely see myself snagging a few pours once the most important ticks are taken care of.

No one tell this guy about session mead.
