Easily one of the dumbest products I've seen in a while.

One of the most dumb things I've ever seen period.

So I should sell my blitzen stock?

"BORN OUT OF NECESSITY
The liquor store only had warm Prosecco when a Deeplocal engineer went to pick up a bottle. With a short drive home and no time for conventional refrigerator chilling, he engineered a solution to make the cold weather work for him."

I'm curious as to what Mission:Impossible scenario this "engineer" was in that he had "no time" to chill a bottle in a refrigerator. If he was any engineer he has to have seen Mythbusters.

Wrap your bottle in a wet paper towel and put it into a freezer for 15-20 minutes. There. It's cold.

also of note is that this has been around since late 2017 and is still not available. My guess is that it was a fun idea but not practical in any way and maybe ended with a lot of glass/suds on the road.

Buying some magnets, 3D printing a prototype, and building a web page is the easy part. Raising tens of thousands of dollars to get the tooling/dies made in china and committing to inventory is another story.

JulianB since you've left facebook I figured I would tag you here. Much shorter trip than driving all the way up to VT and you could even crash at the house.

wuntrikpony you and Cam coming over this way?

Word on the street is that Sams/State of Beer/Tasty AVL/Salud are all getting the bigger HF drops, and a few others (including tasty Raleigh) are getting small drops of Anna/Arthur

I'll message you later, probably in for the 13th.

Is there some sort of connection with NC and Hill? Farmer Wave was made specifically for Nebraska due to Good Life Provisions, and it has also resulted in them getting some other HF bottles for retail distribution so I was curious if they had something similar.

Ryan at Casita used to work at Hill. AFAIK that's the only connection.

Same with KY. We get some Hillfarmstead every once in a while because the Shelton distro here hooks them up with bourbon barrels.

And the way Casita is set up, as a contract brewery in NC, means they are technically a "distributor" in the state's eyes.

rwitter could expound upon it if he really wanted to

People > Rare Beer

Unless said "Rare Beer" is 2000 / 20005 (or the really obscure 2008) Still Nacht Reserva. Even then I'd probably rather drink a pitcher of Live Oak Hefeweizen with the vast majority of you.

Even Lutter.

Lemme tell you about 2011 when we used to trade Live Oak Hefe in growlers as a “rare beer” tho, lol.

We might have interracted on the BA boards back in the day as I still have at least x2 "Whip In" growlers for Live Oak Hefeweizen. A great friend from grade school got a keg of Live Oak Hefeweizen for his wedding a few years back, and after the ceremony LT and myself had to fill 20+ growlers for folks to take home as we couldn't stand to see that keg go to waste while he was on his honeymoon.

The OG Massala Mama growlers from Town Hall were equally amazing for us Chicagoans, and you made sure any friends driving up to Minneapolis would bring said growlers re-filled back on their return journey.

The good ole days...

I had a keg of Live Oak Hefe at my wedding... I still don’t know where it ended up afterwards but it did get returned. I’m assuming my brother in law got really drunk on it that week of the honeymoon, lol

This Scofflaw/Brewdog thing this morning is nuts. They setup a promotion with BrewDog to have a beer week over there and sent beer to all their bars...

Then this morning a press release...

Of course...

Jesus christ... Scofflaw's beer is also absolute garbage so nothing of value was lost.

Good to see they learned from all the terrible press they got last year. Truly garbage people running that brewery.
Agreed--garbage people and garbage beer. In addition to their ****** social media presence, there have been rumors of a lot of ****** things that have happened at the brewery amongst employees (someone pulling a gun, sexual misconduct). I apologize to anyone I ever sent their beer to. Scofflaw brews a lot of their beer in Ohio at the Brewdog facility there so they've been partners with Brewdog for a while.

Down to the last bottle of my Weihenstephaner hefe weissbier 6 pack. Man, that"s a great beer. And I didn't have to deal with a big line or laying out very much $.

It's always nice to revisit classic, easy drinking beers & not fret about the latest over-hyped & over-priced IPA/DIPA cans.
