New Belgium Voodoo Ranger.....you are not that great. I wish I had some Odell IPA instead of you, so I kick myself in the ass for wanting to "try something new". Yet I have opened up another bottle. Thank your bottom line that my need for alcohol enjoyment outweighs your semi-quality brew. Fool me once.....;)

I always thought we were lucky to be insulated from all of that **** here, but the whole "scene" finally found it's way to Seattle. It all seems to revolve around humblebrag photos of massive hauls, "winning" and treating beer like Pokemon.
I see these gomers locally buy loads of everything and then they have to have cellar fire sales twice a year to pay for some unexpected car repair or kid related bill.

The newest Bring on the Beer novella is about how Black Butte Porter is in stock.. excerpt:

A Porter that literally changed the landscape of craft beer in the Pacific Northwest.

Unlike most dark beers -- heavy and aggressive -- Black Butte captured the hearts of thousands of drinkers by being exactly the opposite.

Dark and flavorful, yet light in body. A combination some thought was impossible, yet the result was a very special beer.

...A Porter that literally changed the landscape of craft beer in the Pacific Northwest.

Literally. After being brewed, bottles of Black Butte, literally, walked the Pacific Northwest with shovels and striking tools, graded the earth and planted all types of trees, flowers and shrubbery to change the entire ******* landscape. Literally.

Deschutes should print that on the back of every bottle.

The way I see it, scummy beer releases are great for us, because it diverts all the homies to canned IPAs and whatever other flavors of the month they can capitalize on.

I walked into the local shop the other day and was able to buy bottles of Arctic Devil and Pannepot Grand Reserva off the shelf. Were it not for the homiefests, I don't think that'd be possible.

Agree. Arbitrator was shocked at the 3F turding it up on our shelves. Love grabbing Hanssen's, 3F, Tomes, etc. whenever I want. But hey, if people want to spend $25+ for the next flavor of the month, go right ahead.

He was shocked? Arbitrator needs to go to better stores around here.

We evolved. Alas, most of them will too eventually.

people seem weirdly concerned about this (on facebook, but still) , but it's still pretty reasonable. $25 a 4 pack, $16 a 750 is a way better deal than 98% of comparable beers. stores for sure gonna sell that kbs 750 for $30+ tho.

I think people were more concerned that it isn't the same price in both packages. Lol.

yea i've got zero problem with this even if it is slightly higher in price than last year. i still love kbs so this ticketed release is literally the only way i can get a decent amount without the hassle of limits and price gouging. i would much rather get the larger package than say, a case of juice is loose.

wish i could of snagged a case of bbapt5 so i didn't have to deal with any of this though..

Those two also made my head explode. I live 20 min from OH. I have yet to go to a release for these reasons. In the time it would take me to do this, I could in theory be in VT with a case of Focal (I did this Saturday). Of course this doesn't factor in the time to get *back,* but still...

And of course I know I'm only into beer for likes on Instagram. Isn't that the whole point? *headdesk*

Or just roll in at 8PM that night and buy most of the same beer in growlers instead of cans. Total wait time 10 mins if you're unlucky.

Don't be so sure about the BA Plead. I had one of the 2016's last night and it was dreadful. Sourish and metallic.
