I love it when a bartender asks me for my last name on a tab and before I can even finish they reply with a chipper yet transparently apathetic "Yep!" or "Okay!", only to have them track me down in the taproom 20 minutes later to ask me "What was that name again?".

Shelf vanilla variants???

This was very surprising to me. I came across a couple of cases of this in my local store, just sitting on the floor. (They put limited beers behind a counter.). Well-known brewery, vanilla barrel-aged beer, reasonable price, on the shelf?

Well, I opened a bottle tonight and cracked the case.

It's not very good.

Yeah it was OK. Kinda thin, a little sweet. Thought I was so baller finding one at a store I don't usually go to but then I realized it was year round.

What's with the obsession with Celebration? It's kinda just another malty ass ipa to me. Someone explain.

It's only a bit on the malty side of things.

And... I dunno, an ode to SN? A yearly "celebration" of the fact that you're still not bored drinking SNPA?

Maybe it's just the spices they use, who knows.

Sideswipe drinking a SN Celebration in DDT made me think, **** first time 10 years i aint grabbed a 6 pack, and, **** gonna have to get an old ass 6 pack.

I had a pint last month, **** that nonsence.
You are drunk. I have not had a SN Celebration in at least two years. So far I've posted a couple of Bay Area IPAs in DDT today.

It's seasonal and I'm sure lots of folks have been drinking it every year for longer than you've been drinking and some of have probably been drinking it every year longer than you've been alive. So nostalgia? Dunno, would not drink if it was year round. It's sort of the exception to the malty IPAs suck rule for me.

This is it for me. Been drinking celebration every Christmas since I was a wee lad. It's just not Christmas with out 8 or 9 pints of Celebration.
