Stillwater is contract brewing in Colorado now? When did that happen?

I think I saw somewhere its at the new Crazy Mountain/Old Breckenridge facility. My good friend lives around there and said they haven't been brewing nearly as much as Breck was before they left. Maybe needed a way to help the cost? pure speculation on my part

This must be why we have Gose Gone Wild all over town now, I love that beer so more power to Stillwater for picking up the slack over at Crazy Mountain. Their stuff is pretty mediocre to begin with, compound that with the fact Elite distributes them and there are a dozen better/more profitable brands for them to push leads to basically no tap handles around town. I'm not even sure where they got the scratch to buy the old Breck facility.

What'll you do if you see him at another event? My experience is the beer community, while growing, isn't that big and the odds of seeing him again are pretty decent?

I vote you "spill" a beer on him. Something really sticky.

Or steal something of his, like his woman or man.
Mount him like the alpha dog and jackhammer him into submission. Then steal his rare tick and drink it while he cries.

He brews all the beer himself on Crazy Mountains system so not really contract brewing. Well that's what I was told. Maybe he just dialed in the first batches.

CM is god awful though so I hope he doesn't turn the reins over to them.

Julius and Broken Truck rated among their peers on this list

Going to cite this in my next trade.

Sans Pagaie’s a spin on a kriek (get it?) that redefines the sugary cherry bombs the style’s too often pegged for.

Jesus Christ, is this going to be 2016's version of "Brett=sour"?

Last night I rated this a 2 and said it was a poor example of the style. Meh
It is a brett saison.
This happened today. Note the head brewer (Bill) hates me. We had issues a few years ago, and I no longer assistant brew with him.

I like the checkin after yours (which you toasted I think)

"Apple on the nose but vapid taste lacking subtlety of a saison. I've been cheated."

Brewery toasted this check in too, but no comments

Why block the breweries from commenting? I'd think it would be entertainment value if nothing else.

I didn't used to have it that way but it got tiresome after a while to always feel the need to respond to comments when I don't like a beer. Plus the fact that not having them on trolls/aggravates at least some people on there is pleasing.

I don't like seeing certain brewers (Carton) deflect criticism of their beer with comments like "Must be an old bottle" or "This beer isn't for everyone". Most people are not willing to call out a brewer on it as the brewer is in a position of expertise. If a casual is reading through their feed and sees a bad review followed by a brewers justification, they are more than likely willing to believe the brewer.

No; that beer was fresh, tasted like it is supposed to, and sucked.

I would be okay with not allowing breweries to comment on check ins at all and simply let them toast/like it.

I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't yet started some consulting business for breweries on marketing/PR efforts. You could basically make a living off of essentially telling head brewers to shut the **** up.
LOL @ thinking breweries have any business sense. IT'S ABOUT COMMUNITY, NOT MAKING MONEY, MAN.

There's your problem right there.

Yeah I agree. Which is why I stopped doing it, and stopped even reading them. Then I'd get friends saying "did you see what so-and-so brewery posted on your Untappd check-in to that ****** beer of theirs?" and so I figured I'd just turn it off completely and not have to deal with it at all.

The other thing that was getting aggravating was getting notifications because a brewery commented on a check-in but then it ended up being something totally generic like "Thanks Julian!" that they would post on every check-in to their beers of every person they could, I assume either through a bot or through some intern or social media employee. Bear Republic comes to mind for that.

I am loving this refreshing first-world-problems take on things Julian. Keep it coming.
