I ran out of beer on my last bottle and only had enough to fill mr beer 1 liter bottle to where neck starts do I need to worry about anything?

My best guess is that it might not carbonate fully and with the increased headspace, theres more of a chance of oxidation. last time I bottled I had one of those 500ml Belgian flip-top bottles, It was filled a little past halfway. I mostly used it as kind of a sampler. It carbonated a little, and I drank it early on to "check" the progress of my other, fully filled beers :)

If, when I bottle, the last one is less than full, I drink that one. Figure it's a bonus.
I usually get 7, 12 oz. sixers plus 3, 22ozers. Sometimes one or two more 12 ozer.
I know a lot of people don't like it, but I really like the bottling process. I'm weird, I know.

I've bottled nearly 200 gallons this year. That's close to 2000 bottles. I just did a quick 'n dirty inventory of my basement this morning and I have approx. 22 cases bottled right now... and I still need to brew more, since my favorite batches go so quickly. :D

Need to throw some parties and get rid of my "bad" beer. Not that it's actually bad....

Less than 2/3rds usually I just sip that bottle and not bother capping it. last time the bottle was fairly close 4/5ths full. Capped it and just opened it a week or so later as a tester.

I just bottle it as normal and drink it first like many have said as a tester. 100% of the time it has tasted fine!

My girlfriend just bought me a burner so I can brew more. Don't have a basement, but plenty of closet space

I guess I should add something of substance to this thread aside from bragging. :tank: If I have a partial fill (at least 50%) I'll cap it and test it after a week to make sure everything is carbing up properly (usually awful and full of yeast, but tells me if things are going all right in general).

I also mark the last couple bottles with an 'X', or if there's one I do something dumb with (lots of bubbles, sediment, etc.), and use those as my testers. I like to see how my beer is progressing over the first few weeks. Even with pipeline 22 cases deep, I still can't resist.... :drunk:

If it's a mr beer plastic bottle, just squeeze it to remove the head space and cap it while your squeezing it. Works perfectly. It will go back to its original shape as it carbonates, but you don't have to worry about extra oxygen in there.

Being filled to near the neck of the bottle,it might carbonate lighter than the full ones, but still ok. Just not as good as the others. I usually wind up with half a 12oz bottle or so,so I drink that one with another couple beers when I'm done bottling & cleaned up.
