racking cane sight glass

This may be a stupid question but...... Has anyone ever used a racking cane as a sight glass in a mlt. I was thinking of shoving one thru a drilled stopper and putting it in my cooler MLT. I know most are acrylic and most acrylics are rated to 200f, so I do not think temp is an issue. Thanks!

Alot of guys on here have made them, I have one on my HLT. Had one on my BK but it got too hot. Its the same size as 3/8 od comp fittings, just use o-rings instead of the brass ferrule.
