I brewed my first AG on sunday and the OG was 1.084. I am not getting very good action thru the air lock and I am fine with that because the bucket lid doesnt have the seal in it. It was bubbling slowly for a few days but now is non existent. I was going to rack to my carboy so I can see whats happening and take a gravity reading to see if in fact the yeast is working.
My question is:
Should I aerate the brew while transferring(I just use a strainer on top of the funnel and that incorporates alot of bubbles) or transfer with as little disturbance as possible(like when I transfer to keg)?

I popped the lid and there was alot going on. I just hate not seeing what is going on. If left to our own thoughts the mind just goes to the bad. All good

If and when you rack to the secondary disturb it as little as possible oxygen is only good for beer prior ro pitching yeast.

Leave it another week at least and then take a reading. AND DO NOT AERATE IT.
