quick brew kettle question

I want to upgrade my kettle but can't quite afford the deluxe brew kettles yet, so i was wondering if anyone has tried installing a valve and thermometer on an aluminum kettle to improvise? Ill post links for the valves and thermometers i have been looking at. Any suggestions would help greatly!

Yeah those work for aluminum pots. You will have to go weldless on everything but that's not a problem.
