I just made some apple pie.
I'm trying to figure out what proof or % or alcohol is in it.
Here is the recipe:
1 gallon apple cider
1 gallon apple juice
3 cups white sugar
7 cinnamon sticks
1.5 liter bottle of 190 proof (95%) grain alcohol.
I boiled the main ingredients and then added the Grain Alcohol after it cooled.
My uneducated guess is that it is around 40 proof (20%) alcohol.
What would you say? how did you get the answer? can i measure it with a hydrometer without taking a OG and FG?
