Ok , for a big guy ( over 300 pounds) I am a light weight beer drinker... I can drink liquor no problem, but beer puts me out quicker. HOWEVER the home brew puts me right to sleep after just a couple of them.....The alcohol content is not high, but it KO's me and I sleep like a baby. What causes this? is it the hops or what?

Two beers do make me drowsy sometimes. I notice I start to "wake up" at about the 4 beer mark. Hard liqueur has never slowed me down until around the 10 shot mark. I just think alcohol has a perceived reverse effect of a depressant at higher amounts.

Sounds like your just a p*ssy.;)

I kid, I kid.

that is quite possible lol...was 325 pounds at 37 yrs old...got into weight lifting and dropped some weight...got into judo and submission wrestling and ju jitsu and dropped a total of 96 pounds....offered a cage match at the age of 40 by a local promoter.... I was in good shape and pretty tough...two days after the offer I suffered a back injury doing dead lifts and I am fat again and definitely a p*ssy compared to 3-4 years ago. That aside the beer thing is really funny... I can drink two and I am out like a light.

happens to me too. 2 beers and i'm asleep...4 beers and I'm ready to party...

i think it's the context that you're drinking in. if i have two beers, it's because i'm usually sitting at home with the family. pretty relaxing. if i'm drinking hard liquor, it's usually because i'm out with friends.

Hops can have a sedative effect on many people. They are a common ingredient in calming tonics for pets and low-bitterness hops are used in herbal teas.

I pulled this up from a website, and as we all know if it is on the web it must be true.

If you find you feel tired after eating bread (but not pasta), or just one beer, you may be allergic to yeast.
