I'm in Mississippi where you can't order beer online. I will be in Moline, IL this weekend, and I would like to know any good breweries or beers to hunt for. Thanks in advance.
I'd look around and see if you can find any Toppling Goliath beers. I've never actually spent time in Moline, but I travel frequently between Chicago and Des Moines, IA (Moline is about midway between), and I can find TG in both locations, so I bet you can find it in Moline as well if you look.
Thanks, I'm going for work and usually we fly everywhere, but this past week and next week have fallen in a weird line up the I55 corridor. I was in Memphis yesterday, St. Louis today, Chicago Thursday, and the Quad Cities from Friday-Monday. The company decided to send me in my POV and reimburse it, so I have more freedom than normal.
if you don'y get half acre in Mississippi stock up on that. i think if I was going somewhere without beer, half acre is what I would stock up on. daisy cutter, double daisy, etc.
Not sure about home brew supplies (I'm about 50 miles west of there), but look for Hy Vee grocery stores. They typically have a hefty supply of Toppling Goliath. Don't buy the cans...they're contract brewed in Florida. Look for bombers. Lately they've had Supa Sumo which is outstanding, but any of their pale ales or IPAs are outstanding (some would say legendary). Zeelander, Sosus and Double Dry Hopped Pseudo Sue are particularly good but you really can't go wrong. Avoid Rover Truck...it's very ordinary.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm headed out in the morning for this 11 hour ride. By the time I get there I will be in a "if it's cold and it's beer give it to me" attitude. Once that period passes I will start exploring.
