Breezetrees

This may be a dumb question...
I'm thinking of taking up kegging instead of bottling, and while I like a project as much as anyone, the keg will probably have to go into the existing garage fridge at first. This fridge is currently used for beer in bottles, but also other drinks and overflow from the house and costco trips, etc.
If I put a corny keg in the fridge, I'll have to rig up some different shelves (the current ones are glass). Anyone have a good solution for this, or pictures of a kegerator that they use for regular food as well as beer?
I guess I'm wondering if I should wait to keg until I can dedicate a fridge/keezer too or if my family and I can share a fridge with a keg in it.
