I bought a cheaper stock pot that has a seam in it.

I would like to make the whole for my valve where the seam is.

Should I avoid doing this or should I be ok? It is a concord stock pot, if that helps anyone.

Thanks!

On an entire kettle, the only place you want to punch a hole is at the seam? Have you ever seen anything on the seam before in any pics posted anywhere?

I think you already know the answer... :mug:

You can punch through a seam, but it puts a lot of stress on the metal when punching. If you punch it, and then crack the seam, where will you be then?

I say it's safer to stay away, but go for it! Kettles aren't cheap...

A seam is the last place I would drill or punch a hole. I woud employ any solution that allowed me to avoid drilling or punching on a seam.
