I'm planning a pumpkin ale for fall - I'll share my tentative recipe below, but suffice it to say that's it's fairly standard as far as fall pumpkin spiced beers go. The TL;DR here is: will london ale III play well in a beer of this style? I have the foggy London Ale strain from escapement technically, but my understanding is they're very similar/identical strains. I've got this strain on hand, and its an English yeast like most the recipes I've read use however ive never seen it considered in a pumpkin spiced beer.

Recipe:

70% golden promise
10% golden naked oats
5% biscuit
5% special b
5% carapils
5% molasses

25 IBU of northern brewer at 60 min

Roasted pumpkin and some pumpkin spice added to the fermenter after terminal gravity is achieved and wort is chilled down to ~55°f.

Feel free to critique my recipe as well. I'll be brewing a small 1 gallon trial batch before committing to 5 gallons of this as it's my first attempt at one of these beers.

Thanks!!

London Ale 3 is a low-attenuating yeast. As such, it should increase body and sweetness of the ale. That makes it a good choice for Pumpkin Ale.

It seems odd to me that the same yeast that I know works with a hazy IPA would work with a brown/fall ale. Thanks for the feedback! I'm going to give it a go regardless for kicks but thought I'd ask
