Hi building a brew rig, but just wondering when you stanfser from the mash tun to the BK does the slow running wrot not damage the pump

As long as you don't restrict the inlet side of the pump (and the inlet side feeds the pump head from the center or bottom) you will be fine. Regulate the mash runoff with a valve on the outlet side of your pump.

On the outlet side, so when the runoff slows you can still keep the pump full, is that right

"When the runoff slows"?

The valve on the pump output can be fully closed with the motor running as long as the pump head is full of liquid.

If for some reason the input flow rate can't keep up with the pump output capacity you will need to match the output to the input by using the output flow control valve. Otherwise the pump head will eventually cavitate...

Cheers!
