That I just had to show her off.....3 batches into home brewing and I just can't get enough of it.....hated the Ale Pail on batch 1 (Summer IPA, turned out great), damn bubbler didn't even work cuz the lid doesn't seal. Batch 2 (Rye IPA, turned out great) was cool to see the fermenting in a glass carboy but grew tired of wrapping it in a towel and the fear of it breaking, also cleaning wasn't fun.

Those came with my beginners brewing kit. Wish I had known and just gone straight to the SS Brew Bucket cuz it's incredible.

Batch 3, a black Ale recipe (Mini mash) from Austin Homebrew again and shes rocking in the SS Brew Bucket in a Danby wine fridge a fitted with a temp controller. Shes at 62 and the beer is reading 68ish

I highly suggest this bucket.....$195 is tough to swallow for a bucket but man there's so many pros its insane.....

That is some healthy fermentation you got there.

::knocking on wood:: I've heard a lot of people say that the lid Ale Pail didn't seal. I've got 2 that I use back and forth and both of them haven't failed me yet.

That's crazy. Man had mine sealed I might have never even switched. But being a beginner, I didn't even know by peeking inside, I saw the Krausen but I didn't know if it was still the foam from me aerating the wort so much. It was a frustrating 2 weeks

It is hard as a new brewer to trust that the yeast is doing its thing without visual affirmation. The SS brew bucket is a very nice addition, but don't discard your plastic bucket just yet. Next time you ferment in it, wrap the top of it with Saran Wrap. This will provide a much better seal and give you the airlock activity you are looking for.

I don't get much in the way of bubbles/activity in using a 3 piece air lock with the ale pails. After switching to S shaped airlocks, the "glug" tells me that it's going.

I'm pretty sure none of my lids seal. I rarely see a lot of activity. But after two weeks they're always done so I don't really worry about. If for some reason it's not done I just purge it with a little co2, put the lid on, and jostle it around a tiny bit and check it next week.

Seems like this complaint is posted a lot ..I have 6 buckets every one of them seals great I get air lock activity from the beginning run-away fright train stage way down to less then once in 10 min after 7 days or so. I have always been able to see through them enough to tell exactly where the krausen is and how high it has been to. Sold on 15.00 plastic buckets myself...but yours dose looks nice..:) Way more jealous of your ferm chamber then your bucket.
