I just opened my first Brewer's Best IPA. Below are the directions, which I followed -- also with secondary fermentation for 2 weeks. The beer has been kept in closed crates after bottling for another 2 weeks before I popped them in the fridge 2 days ago.

Bottle cap gave way with a nice pffft, and the pour yielded a nice generous thick foamy head. However, once I got below the head, the beer was almost flat. Other than that, the taste was decent, color and aroma were great.
Is this indicative of anything any of you have experienced? I like carbonation IN my beer, not just ON my beer.
I've left the remainder of the 2 case batch in their boxes -- perhaps the carbonation will improve?
Thanks for any insight you can offer!
