My first batch of Hefewizen is fermenting away nicely and I realize that I forgot to pick up the priming sugar while at the LHBS. I have plenty of time before bottling so going back in a picking up some corn sugar is not a problem, but it got me thinking. If I were to not notice a mistake like this untill bottling day could I use light corn syrup for bottling, and if so how much would be a good idea to use? I would imagine I would have to use a little more since there is some water in it to start with... Stupid idea??

I've used corn syrup to boost the ABV of several beers. It should work for priming.

Anything fermentable can be used as priming sugar, but sometimes figuring out the right amount can be tricky.
