Preserving Hops Clusters

Is there a way to Take a cluster of cones and a section of the Bine and preserve it to use as Ornamental Decoration?

I would love to hang a cluster behind the bar but still have them look like they were just pickedn and not all dried out.

I don't know how you would do it with them still wet. I've got some dry ones on my Oktoberfest hat that I have been considering lacquer dipping to make them more durable.

There's a way to do it using glycerin. I ran into this guy in the early 90's at the CBC in Boston where he had preserved whole hop vines. http://www.google.com/patents/US5985063

You mean sort of like this:

It seems to be the thing to do over in parts of England. I'm not sure exactly how but you would have to dry it pretty quickly. If you leave the cones attached, the bine tends to send its moisture to the cone thus allowing the cones to rot.
