Pre-bottling "trub dump" in a non-conical fermenter

Just brewed up my first batch ever yesterday, so of course my mind is on to the next several steps. Later today I'll bump the temperature, there will be dry hopping and cold crashing and whatever else, but I'm thinking about bottling as well. (We can talk kegs later - short version: read lots, not interested yet.)

I have a regular fermenter (7G Fermonster) and no plans to get a conical, but I love the idea of a trub dump before bottling. Is there a way to siphon from the bottom first or something to get through the trub, and then bottle near 100% of what's left? I'd love to get something close to commercial clarity, but, you know, it's a process.

Thoughts on techniques? Anyone done something like this?

Most just use an auto siphon with the inverted cap on the end, and hold it high enough to exclude the trub when racking to the bottling bucket. I get good, clear beer that way.

Just do as ncbrewer describes. If you stick a siphon cane into the trub you'll disturb it and get a more hazy beer that way.

Just cold crash and use a spigot or a siphon cane from top following the beer as it drains from the bucket.
