Can this style Potentiometer be used to drive a SSVR? I like this style better as I am punching into my current controller. I am looking at 500KOhm version. The first link is the potentiometer and the second is the SSVR I intend to use. It is going to be used for controlling the voltage on an 4500 watt element that is running under 220v.

The potentiometer you asked about is 500K ohm. Assuming you are in the USA, your power is 240V/60Hz, so you need a 330K ohm potentiometer, rated for 2W minimum.

Thanks, Yes in the USA. Not having any luck finding the above style in that resistance.
 
I'm puzzled by why that AliExpress 500K pot is preferable to the one Auber offers.

Given 330K is "required," I'm thinking about half its range would be useless (if it didn't smoke and burn cuz can't handle two watts - but the photo seems to show 2W so maybe okay on that front).

It is really was just the preference on the hole size (22mm)and nothing more. I have decided to go with the Auber one.
