I just received a staggering payload of beers from Modern Times in San Diego. I'll bring some to de Garde on Saturday. They'll make a good palate cleanser in between rounds of delicious wild ales.

I wish I was in town for the De Garde party this weekend, sounds like it's going to be awesome. ISO 1 bottle of each Bu variant.

Does Notorious usually make it to Portland when it's released, or is it only available in Bend? I'm at Bailey's right now enjoying a 3-Way and I just saw that Alpine has Notorious on tap.

Yep. I've had it on-tap in Portland several times. Even spotted it available for growler fills once.

Not Portland, but Hood River-centric question. Are the Double Mountain Krieks barrel aged at all? My internet sleuthing has not led me to an answer.

The label for 2013 Devil's Kriek contains no mention of barrels or even oak.

EDIT: I know that doesn't really answer your question, Ryan_G , but the omission seemed significant. I also just read an article in Double Mountain's blog which contained the line "We were able to secure some more tanks for the 2013 vintage". That suggests to me that the beers are aged on cherries in stainless tanks, but I'm not 100% certain of it.

I'd expect that they are barrel aged. Probably second/third/fourth use barrels though so they're closer to neutral and not lending much influence on the flavor. Using barrels for aging is cheaper than stainless and most breweries do so even if they don't advertise it.

The labels make no mention of barrel-aging, and given that price point, i think they'd advertise that if they could.

I also just wish they tasted good.

Anyone know when the most recent batch of 3-Way was brewed? Want to throw up an ISO but if it was weeks/months ago then I'll hold off.

This was the first year they brewed it right? Do you know if there's plans to brew it again next summer? That beer is delicious and I can't image they wouldn't re-brew it again.
They brewed it last year under the same name except collaborated with Lucky Lab and Lompoc. Different recipe though...No idea if they keep the name next year but collab with two new breweries and change the recipe again.
