I'll be out in Portland towards the end of the month (specifically, landing Thursday, Nov 29 around 10:30pm), should have some drinking time if anyone wants to touch tips. How much drinking time may depend on the weather (i.e. if it's good I'm driving straight to Mt Hood and going climbing, if it's not I'm drinking). I'll have a rental car, so might also try to pull a DeGarde visit. Need to be in Eugene by Sunday - meeting up with some colleagues to do some research and then give a talk at U of O on Tuesday, before taking the red eye home from PDX. Might also drink before the flight back.

Okay I feel like a bum for asking this, but could someone do me a favor? I need to get a 3 day Sno-Park pass so I can park at Mt Hood, and by the time my flight lands and I pick up the car etc all the places that sell them (there's a bunch - all the outdoor stores, some Bi-Marts, etc) will be closed. If someone could pick me one up and mail it, I'll PayPal the cost + postage and buy you a beer. The DMV (since it's the DMV) does not make it at all convenient to order them online (specifically you have to mail them a check + letter explaining what you want, as opposed to, you know, just having an online checkout).

I work in Sandy on the way to Mt Hood and I'm pretty sure the 24/7 convenience store sells sno-park passes.

Which one is that? Didn't realize they were 24-7, if that's the case (and they are on this list) I'll just do that and save the trouble, thanks for the heads-up!
Plaid Pantry is the spot. Safeway and Fred Meyer should be good if you get there before they close at 11. definitely call ahead to make sure.

Cool, I'll just take that option then. Worst comes to worst and I'll just eat the $30 fine or whatever. Past couple of times I've climbed Hood in winter I forgot to get a pass, but didn't get dinged.

450k for all

Any one know which brewery this is? Alameda?

Only $450k!

Sounds way too low for Alameda. Probably another brewery whose ownership wants to get out before the market gets even worse.

Wouldn't say the market is getting worse, just more competitive (not necessarily a bubble). I guess its whose perspective your viewing it from.

450 seems pretty reasonable, but I wonder what kind of debt and expenses the new owner would need to take on? Assuming that anybody looking to sell their brewery on Craigslist is probably struggling pretty badly.

Could it be Seven Brides? "Portland area" is a stretch, but it's less than an hour away.
