Bought some hallertau plug hops yesterday. 1 oz for 7 dollars!?!? I was wondering how you use these. Should i break them up in the boil by hand? Are they more concentrated, is that why they were so expensive? If anyone can shed for me it would be appreciated. Thanks

7$ is expensive! I know there used to be only like 1-2 plug machines in the US but they were never that much more than pellets or whole. I like plugs for flavor/aroma, I think they are almost as good as whole for that purpose.
I break them up and sprinkle them on top of the boiling wort. You don't have to but they take some time to break apart on thier own.

Worked well for dry hopping before the hop shortage. $7 yeow!
