Plastic Starter jar

Is it ok to use a plastic jar for starter or is glass a must?

As long as it's clean and sanitized, plastic should be fine. The issue with plastic is long-term O2 permeability, but starters are made so soon before brewing that it should be a non-issue, and besides - you want as much O2 in the starter as you can get!
